NEWS FLASH: According to a reliable source, it is reported that the EDTC spent $30-35,000. to sue yours truly.
Bwah! Must have been. Whatever it was, it sent Moneyballs over the edge. He even went so far as to brag about helping a cancer charity when he did not. And he calls me a liar. He and his friend trashed a local volunteer and cancer patient. And he accuses me of slander.
I saw a news blurb that says that the Peace Bridge Expansion is dead in the water. I can't help thinking that if weren't for local nimbies and obstructionists, there would now be a spanking new bridge across to the States, a privately funded bridge that would have brought jobs and commerce to Fort Erie. It was called the Ambassador Bridge like its counterparts in Detroit.
Shortly after the Ambassador Project was announced the Peace Bridge Authority jumped up and said that a companion bridge to the over seventy-year-old bridge would be built. And the Bridge on the River Lie began and continued on for a decade and ended, just as predicted, with a whimper - and a blurb in the news. Anyone remember all those meetings and the angst when people decided that the Ambassador's location idea was the best place for a new bridge? Add to that the quick purchase by the PBA of the Coal Docks and the old Mentholatum Building and the later disposal of the properties as the Attorney General of New York started to ask questions about why the properties were bought by the PBA as they were not necessary to the Peace Bridge expansion. And then the town bailing the PBA by taking over the Mentholatum Building and spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to bring the place up to code?
Eventually, the Ambassador people got the message and pulled up stakes and left town.
How unfortunate that the town leaders, including the mayor were so against the Ambassador Bridge, since they are all for development in Fort Erie. Just not the Ambassador Bridge development.
UPDATE: Article on the Ambassador Bridge owner who was jailed in Detroit.

Again it backs to East Fort Erie movers & shakers- if they can't get in on the action then no action!!
Read the Detroit newspapers numb skulls!
Your Manny just went to jail! He would fit right in with your crew right here in Fort Erie
Does this mean that the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit will come down and disappear? Guess not. You are attempting to draw attention away from a major boost to the local economy that was thwarted by local politicians - especially Doug Martin who sat on the PBA Board.
Never mind. We know the truth.
Maybe you should ask the Mayors of Detroit and Windsor about what a great corporate citizen Mr.Maroun is before defending him , and secondly the Boys and Girls Club bought the Mentholatum Building and rents to the town .The town has never owned the Mentholatum Building.
So, you're defending the town's stance on the Ambassador Bridge and all that it would have brought to the town in revenue and commerce? All those jobs? The town bailed out the PBA on the Mentholatum Building. They had to do a work-around to do it, but it was taxpayer money that paid for the renovations to the building. It was all cleverly done. And very hard to get a handle on.
Bottom line: the town came out against a development that would have brought millions to the area. All because of its loyalty to the PBA, which promised a companion bridge and did not deliver.
Today is Friday the 13th. Wonder if they're having a party in Port Dover? I'm sure it's scaled down. Not to worry. This year, there's also April and July to celebrate.
An idea that has grown to bring thousands of tourists and dollars into Port Dover while introducing the waterfront town to further tourism and publicity.
we know about your reliable sources. LOL
why on earth would you brag about such a thing as what it cost to sue 'yours truly"???? Have you no pride??? If I were being sued I would be so ashamed and would not be advertising it...you truly are a work of art.....sick.
Spending taxpayers money on a personal vendetta is criminal in my opinion. I hope this matter comes out at council to be accountable.
I heard that a request for an additional $48,000. in funds for the EDTC was turned down by council. And council pared another $20,000. off the EDTC budget. Somehow they have to make up for the waste of all that money to sue a blogger.
