KUDOS TO ART VANDALAY

A reader sent in his version of a Limerick.  It deserves to be reprinted here:

Alas'

If not for The Jimmy there would of course be no ninja
For it was from his lips came the leaks to this frinja

Passed from the mouth of his pal majesty Martin
Now as a group we find them a partin.

To the center of it all comes one Sensi aka Leach
You'll now find him a squirming with the toads on the beach

As it all falls to pieces for this group of horse asses
We'll not shed a tear as this nasty bunch passes

From billboards to websites they spewed hateful phrase
Rejoice at the end of our towns darkest phase

Here's to October and the election of four
With hopes that it means we'll see even MORE

Yes, we are witnessing the end of a very dark and nasty time in our town's history.  Total elimination of this curse will end soon, but not soon enough for those of us who have been taunted, stalked and harassed by the ever-decreasing group of domestic terrorists.

There I said it.  What kind of decent citizens erects a billboard calling four councillors liars?  What kind of community-minded people put a flyer in every mailbox in Fort Erie full of untruths and innuendo? What kind of decent people follow senior citizens about; drive down their streets; vandalize their car; crash a private meeting and then tell lies about what happened at that meeting?  And, in this electronic age, they go on Facebook and blogs and tell lies and try to destroy the reputations of their perceived "enemies" in order to curry favour with corrupt officials.

Peter Koutroulakis put his family's restaurant in jeopardy to spew his nonsense on Facebook. He gathered a small group of hangers-on who shared his warped view of issues. They include Lesley North who used to work at a local pawn shop but now has a business on the once thriving - now a testament to urban blight - main street of downtown Fort Erie.  Rather than put her energies to revitalizing and promoting the business area, she has become consumed with the four councillors and myself, none of us who pose any threat to her livlihood or business. She has made numerous appearances at town hall just to trash the four councillors.  Her presentations are cringe-worthy to say the least.  "What is she on?" is a question on the minds of many who witness her diatribes. Like the two lost souls that they are, neither Peter or Lesley has given up on the constant barage of negativity towards the four councillors.  Meanwhile they have been dropped by their former, well-placed supporters, so now they wallow in the slime they created on the internet.

As the pages of the cross-examinations of the co-conspirators have been posted on this blog and they have no rebuttal, they have resorted to their high school tactics and sent their ace photographer, a local pest, to play paparazzi and stalk Donnie Lubberts and myself among others. That pest's name is Royal Greer and he has a long history of harassment.

So, folks, here are Fort Erie's domestic terrorists.  Yes, they are even roundly anti-American to boot, especially those Americans who own summer homes and pay taxes.  Doesn't matter to these people: they think that taxpayers who are not citizens have no right to express an opinion or oppose a high rise supported by a town planner who didn't even live in town. Rino Mostacci has never paid property taxes to the Town of Fort Erie but he bragged that he wanted to see a line of high rises all down the shore of Bay Beach. Off he went shortly after the 2010 election to Markham to see what grandiose plans he could foist on the people of that community.  Apparently they were not impressed and Rino is back working for the region.

So, Art's poem is bang-on. One of their midst has already flown the coop and settled down in Crystal Beach.  Hope he comes to realize what a great place it is and why the people do not want a high rise on their public beachfront.

And that is why we were celebrating this weekend. End of Summer - yeah.  End of what one FOCB member stated was "a pimple on the landscape" is another reason to celebrate.

Good luck to her. I mean it.

    1. Did she have a falling out with Marina? It was just a few months ago she was spouting off about Port Colborne Council in talks with Molinaro about building a condo at Nickel Beach.

    2. Martha was completely wrong that the Molinaros were in talks with Port Colborne about condos on Nickle Beach. Will never happen. Lockwood used to work for Marina at her employment agency. Martha was also working as a waitress at The Cheese Smuggler's restaurant. Calling in favours from those she supported. None seemed to have worked out, so it's back to The Lord. Hope she seeks forgiveness for her betrayal of the people of Crystal Beach.

As per the letters sent out to town and race track employees warning them about job losses if Ann Marie Noyes was elected, they might appear here to show the depths the old guard went to.

Waiting for new versions of the letters to come out shortly. And someone needs to watch the election process very closely. Bad things happened in the last two elections.

    1. I really hoped she is humbled by her failures. She was dishonest and deceitful which goes against her ministry. She was warned of this by church elders when she was elected in 2006. She let her head be turned by developers and the town planner. Her association with Bernie The Cheese Smuggler was the final straw for many. She has a lot of bridges to rebuild. Her lack of honesty caused a lot of her troubles. Hopefully, she will put politics aside and concentrate on her ministry.

    2. He;s ba-ack. According to Nova Res Urbis, an electronic newsletter devoted to planning issues in the GTA, former Fort Erie planner Rino Mostacci has left his position in Markham to become planning commissioner of the Region of Niagara. Looks like Harry Schlange is putting the band back together.

    3. What, does the region take every other city's cast-offs? This is scary! Are they going to start plotting against Fort Erie?

    4. Harry Schlange is merely surrounding himself with familiar, supportive bodies. He is already having problems I 'be heard.

  5. The Lockwood, of course, in her spot, finds comfort as preaching as hot, but, as much as it seems, the backwoods she dreams, exists only in vague Camelot.

  6. The streets of the Fort are a mess, Cause of tax money wasted I guess, On bills to be paid, to lawyers im afraid, already wealthy, they should often confess.

  7. As a person who once studied for the Ministry in my early twenties , and decided that very few Churches adhered to what the early Christian Faith was all about , changed to a life of volunteerism and pro environmental movements , also the Union movement, I scratch my head about Martha Lockwood , I don't see how her lifestyle fits in with the teachings of the early christian Church., maybe she has a different copy of the Holy Scriptures . than the one I am familiar with.

  8. The ninjaws are slow, so it seems, to see the Strand site, what it means, 'Twould be unfortunate for some, to remain just so dumb, To support candidates, now hasbeens. ...or... On Jarvis Street its often been said, That the fry truck could be used instead, For the town hall, so lame, no one quite knows the game, And the mayor can remain potatoehead!!! ....and....In the goodbook, so old and so rare,.. Some passages tell people to care...about the pastors they hear, although somtimes I fear, Lockwoods usually more concerned about her hair... (and that just isnt right).

  9. To turn this thread back to its original direction.....I have to disagree with you Madam Editor as "the end of this town's darkest period" is not over in my opinion.

We have in this very rapidly coming electon, a Chamber of Commerce fielding their version of the next generation of old boys. Gotta pick that carcass clean you know as the public trough can be very lucrative when it is abused in the right manner(just ask ol jimbo about this). Marina Butler and Kim Zanko are both well known for their dirty deeds on Dougie's behalf and you also have to question the motivation of several others, most of whom have been or are still closely associated with the vipers nest at the Chamber.

It aint over yet folks as the dark side and their wannabes know a good thing when they see it and if this town is to ever turn it around, we have to keep up the good work that THE FOUR have started at no small cost to themselves and their families.

Your vote counts good people, so much so that ballot boxes have been tampered with in the past and anyone working for the town should not be within a 100 feet of them this election.

  10. Well put CF,dont forget at the 23rd hour during the last election, a 'letter' going out to Town workers, (and by default anyone else who cared to listen to the lies) to avoid voting for Ms. Noyes unless you wanted to put your soft job in danger. Can we expect similar tricks this time?? Martini in by 5 votes....hmmmm...might have had the effect of tipping the election. Watch for similar 3rd world style election tactics this time as well.

  11. The ninjugs seem to subscribe to the idea of quantity over quality. Lots of empty headed comments without even a taste of an idea to help improve the situation as it stands in the town. Lots of coffee room style remarks from the rednecks on the factory floor, so much so, no one even expects a bright idea, quanto complaino. Quantity of typing, quality of useable ideas, not so much. We posted a photo of someone. How impressive. What about an idea we can actually use to improve the lack of jobs or affordable housing?

  12. The very bad thing about the Region taking on the very people who were incompetent while working for Fort Erie , now have a chance to screw up the Region of Niagara , according to the Municipal Act any legislation that they pass , has to be adhered to by the junior Municipal councils , which means that the bad decisions made while employed by us will take on a life of it's own. This is a nightmare scenario , but sometimes nightmares can become reality.

  13. End of summer? No, sorry. End of school break? I guess. Might be a tradition but its still silly and a bit sad to try to pretend the start of the school year is the end of summer. Might give the parents some relief though. Now were in for some of the finest, warm weather of the summer season. More peacefull too. Maybe it is a cause for parades and celebration, but not because summer is 'over', just that the offspring are back on the magic bus and the strands and parks are a little more peacefull, at least through the week. (sorry but someone was going to say it eventually). End of summer?? Lets try say October10th or so, at least from where we are standing. (and summers getting longer from what I hear).

    1. The end of summer parade is paying homage to the days when groups of young people would rent cottages in Crystal Beach for the summer. The rental period ended on Labour Day and the kids, mostly Americans, went back to school/work/normal lives. It was a bitter-sweet time and some genius decided to have a "wake" and burial of Old Man Summer (and his wife.) Thus the parade through town and the eventual Viking style burial at sea near the Palmwood Hotel. Of course, the Viking burial is no longer allowed, so now the parade stops at the Crystal Chandelier for the final eulogies, etc.

Although the young summer residents were sometimes raucous and destructive, they brought a lot of money into the area. A cottage that would rent to a family for $500. for the season would fetch over $2000. from a group of guys or gals. The beer store in Ridgeway was the second busiest in all of Ontario during that time and Hot Dog Alley was crowded all summer long.

In fact, one participant, yelling into a microphone in this year's parade was taunting the children about going back to school. All in good fun like summertime.

I know about the fall months in Crystal Beach. Best time of the year. I stayed in Crystal Beach until Canadian Thanksgiving/Columbus Day. We always celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving with gratitude for the great place that is Canada and Crystal Beach -then sadly closed the cottage for the winter.

  14. The parade is just a fun event for a last excuse for a party while everyone is still here. Everything does change after Labour Day. A lot of families, both American and Canadian leave for the school year.
    It's fun, not silly.

  15. "The parade is just a fun event for a last excuse for a party while everyone is still here."

Exactly! And there is nothing wrong with parents quietly celebrating the start of the school year at the same time. There's also nothing wrong with celebrating the start of quieter times around the area. Seems to me there are plenty of excuses to go around for a party!

    1. Hey, I still love that Back to School commercial with the song "it's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" and I don't even have kids but I know lots of people who do and by Labour Day, they're more than ready for school to start.
