NEW COUNCIL MAKE-UP IS A COSMIC JOKE. BUT WE'RE NOT LAUGHING

Councillor Paul Collard offered this to me to use because I'm pretty sure it will be needed over the next little while.  All but one of The Four will not be representing the people of Fort Erie next term.  They've been replaced by a newbie, a Barbie Doll and Lucrezia Borgia.

I would imagine that some members of the Chamber of Commerce are celebrating the win for their side. They managed to do a very thorough job of destroying the reputations of The Four Councillors, starting with Marina Butler's Compliance Audit of the man she has now beaten: John Hill.  Then there were the billboards attributed to Kim Zanko who is now Ward 3 Councillor-elect.  And who can forget the lawsuit filed by Tim Whitfield and funded with help from Marina Butler and some other members of the CofC.

Yeah, that's what some Chamber members think is good for the town, right?  Spend time and money to trash the duly-elected representatives of the people.  Such nice, responsible people. Put up signs; put out a slanderous flyer; fund a frivolous lawsuit; and then campaign on honesty and integrity. It seems to have worked if one believes in honest elections.

We have four years to observe how these new councillors will change Fort Erie for the better.  Pay close attention.  There will be a test on this. In four years.

In the meantime, I'm going to design a flyer and a billboard or two.

  1. bring in the clowns...October 28, 2014 at 8:20 AM

I can't say i'm completely surprised by the outcome. The Molly's made the decision for the taxpayers a couple of weeks ago. To the average voter who has no clue what is going on except seeing lawsuits against four councillors plastered in the newspaper, not voting for them seems to be the obvious choice. That is a lot of baggage to overcome - regardless if it has merit or not. Thank you to the 4 councillors who sacrificed their lives for this town. I can only hope that you show those clowns (and their supporters) the same class and respect they have showed you over the past 4 years...hah. Fortunately, I have no ties to Fort Erie so will be moving my family in the near future. Some Fort Erie residents truly disgusted me this election (and the past 4 years) and i have lost all hope for this town.

Doug...don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out (for the doors sake)...what a joke

    1. The election of Wayne Redekop is the only saving grace. He may be able to return town hall to normalcy. However, he will have a council that, save one, will vote in the best interests of the developers and Chamber members. You'll see it as soon as they take office.

  2. Just going to wait and see!October 28, 2014 at 9:46 AM

So if one were to listen to the local FB'ers, the buses with all the investors and developers should be arriving next week with carpet bags full of cash and a hotline to the job bank for workers.
Just going to wait till the first "new" councilor makes the comment about the four years they have to fix first. You would thnk the revival of The Fort plan would be in place now.

  3. I wonder what the percentage of votes did they get before the latest suit was announced and afterwards.

Ward one - not much of a difference from the Advanced polls to yesterday

Councillor - Ward 2 - Must be all those seniors that are stuck on a familiar name.

Councillor - Ward 3 - Zanko - I can't believe the idiots that voted for her.

Councillor - Ward 4 - Marina had a 63% lead, over John Hill after yesterday she gained over 5% to 68.61%. I wonder what Marina's buddies are going to do with all of Hill's campaign signs?

Councillor - Ward 5 - close for Don but he had a lead for the advance polls and managed to keep it, Kim Suck up past Wilkie. Kind of nice to see.

Councillor - Ward 6 had a small lead after the Advanced polls, after yesterday his lead dropped immensely by about 1/2 of the winner Knutt, final vote he only had 23.52% and the winner gained so much more that he had 40% of the votes. ?? Lockwood also didn't get many more votes yesterday, I wonder what happened?

I can't help but think that the conspiracy to Discredit four of our councillors has effected this election and the last lawsuit drove the knife in for 3 of them!

  4. Actually, (donning my tin foil hat) the numbers in a couple of wards are definitely "off." However, this well-funded takeover was very professionally done. I'm impressed. We will have the next four years to live with it. Supporters of The Four cannot afford expensive, slanderous billboards and flyers. Nor can they get well-heeled locals to fund a lawsuit against the new councillors. They just don't operate that way. The fight was to save Bay Beach Properties for the public. Look what the response was to that. Look who was responsible for the campaign against The Four. They will now be running this town.

Only saving grace is that Stephen Passero lost. But he will be rewarded with a job somewhere - perhaps at the EDTC. I hear there's an opening there.

  5. The Fort Erie ninjas "move on to a much better future". Lets hope its back to school for some grammer lessons. Maybe they can pick up litter with Steve and pose for photo ops. Mr. Bracken is planning a bit of entertainment at an upcoming council meeting. We must thank him for the warning. We are avoiding meetings where the entertainment fringe come with a caffine indused brainfart to share. Hope Wayne gives him the old NDP deadeye. Thats when one of those trap doors in front of the horseshoe would be handy. Pull the lever and...

    1. Well, maybe we'll be spared the appearances by Lesley North at council. She won't have anything to complain about. The ninjas are riding high right now - all two of them who are left. Perhaps they will be tossed under the bus now that they have served their purpose. The CofC is in charge now.

As for me, I will be taking a break and trying to catch up on life. Lots of challenges ahead.

  6. I am sick when I think of JT doing his happy dance...free to carry on however he pleases with his lady friends to support him. And of course McDermott and Schular looking to see what way its going before they vote Damn sheep without an original thought. Please tell me Hill will sue Marina for Conflict of interest. She who funded the lawsuit against him so he would lose the election and she could walk into his seat. Shame on the voters who didn't know this. Of course the local press never gave out the names of who financed the lawsuit....Go ahead Marina...try to deny your dirty deal...you and Barbie Zanko are two of a kind. Backstabbers.who should suffer the next four years the way the two of you made the fours life hell..It will be Karma.

  7. Wayne Redekop will have to explain why he broke a ruling by an Ontario Judge , Chapman that basically said "No extensions to the sewer lines while the Sewage pond is in use, that was a temporary stop gap measure to stop sewage going into Black Creek and into the Niagara River, He was the one that broke a Judges ruling and he knows that, as a told as much when I made a presentation, while he was in office.I will find out what the Law Society of Upper Canada has to say about this, since the Barbie twins declared open season on the last council, turn about is fair play. stay tuned.,

  8. Ha Ha...Its more like they are the contents of the Chamber Pots. Both these broads are complicit in costing we the taxpayers thousands of dollars this town can ill afford with the Zanko billboard actions and Marinas $$$ for a frivolous lawsuit..and now they can expect to get the same medicine they have dished out on Council for the last four years. Stick around Sharon...the new Ninjas are taking over starting with frivilous compliance audits. Who funded their campaigns?.

    1. Someone else suggested Chamber Pots, but that is insulting to chamber pots everywhere. I think of the Chamber Maids all dressed up for the old boys at the Chamber and EDTC, etc. What I found interesting is that Marina did not have scrutineers at the polling place. Was she that confident of a win? Goes back to the way that the clerk dodged questions about election procedure at the last council meeting (with help from Hizzoner.)

They won. We can only be vigilant and watch them very closely for the next four years. The taxpayers have borne the burden of the lawsuit against me, the Compliance Audits, and soon a raft of lawsuits and decisions that are coming down the pike. If this election was fair, then the voters just voted against their own self-interest. It will come back in higher taxes. Meanwhile the current council delivered the lowest tax increase in years.

  9. Been Following this $hit for YEARSOctober 28, 2014 at 8:40 PM

I've been following the various blogs for years, but rarely comment, but this time I cannot bite my tongue any longer.

On the Ninja Blog ( a terribly childish name ) Sensei Ron's response to Christian Cross's post is repulsive. Who the hell do they think they are. A person makes a post, which I entirely agree with, and references a post made by Mike Manccino which I also agree with and a post by " nameless little old lady " certainly sums it all up and I couldn't have said it better myself.

These ninja's are so into themselves that they are comical. They INSIST that people identify themselves all the time but hide behind their childish cartoon names.

They keep going on that they are always right. NEVER have I seen them being right. Remember the debate of which councilor would be first to leave. They NEVER back their statements up with proof though they claim to. It is always .... " we will be publishing that information at the right time" ....B.S.

Truly, I don't care for any of the blogs, but they are entertaining. And in reality, the ninja site is the WORST of the bunch. Just like Redbull exploded into a slugfest between them, the ninja's are doing it again right now ....... children ...... absolute children.

Again, " nameless little old lady " said it best ..... " Stop It! Everyone stop it! The elections are over, it is truly yesterdays news. The rants should end immediately, it is regurgitating vomit. We need to take a very long deep breath, and a new look at our Town, and then talk."

But the ninja's are just too into themselves to heed this advice. They are truly a JOKE ....... but are too arrogant to realize it.

  10. Mayor Wayne Redekop will not allow all the shenanigans that the nasty little man even promoted. That will be a refreshing change.

As for that hateful blog, rest assured that they will pick on one or two new Councillors, that's what their festering little minds thrive on. And Don Lubberts doesn't care about any of them, never has.

    1. What I find rather amusing is the fact that Donnie Lubberts doesn't even have a Facebook account. You're right. He couldn't care less about the ravings of the blogs - including mine. Does not waste time on social media. None of The Four pays any attention to Facebook or the blogs.

  11. All over this Town there are serious problems with not enough water pressure,, not enough Sewage capacity, 30 years ago a water line was installed by a council that consisted of a guy that sold french Fries on Jarvis Street, a mayor that worked in real estate in Niagara Falls, a senior citizen lady from Crystal Beach a guy who owned a trinket shop on Jarvis Street, (not D.M) his relative. who gave the Town the chain of office, which hangs around the Mayors neck on ceremonial occasions, they made the decision to put a new waterline from Rose Hill Water treatment Plant,, they went with a small diameter pipe, to serve 600 , people of Stevensville, they did not realize that another 600 people were also on the far end of that line, Douglastown, for an extra $65.thousand dollars we could have had a pipeline that served both communities, they penny wise and pound foolish council, put in an inadequate water service, the result , within a few years just about every building in Stevensville burned down because of lack of water,Planing Mill, Hardware Store, Town Hall, Stevensville Tavern and the Insurance Brokers office , kitty corner from the tavern numerous other buildings in Black Creek went up in smoke, to get water there, they go to the Black Creek for water, I have never had any water pressure, had more water when I used a water cistern, but forced by the Town, to go onto their inadequate water system, what I have found , the illegally built homes by Ed Lentyshyn (Park Lane Homes) do not have the any water pressure, they could find that their home owners insurance coverage will be cancelled or their policy , gets rated, an increase in premiums to cover the safety risk.Water pressure tests over six years ago found that in the event of fire , only 15 minutes of pressure exists, after that the system is purged dry and the homes are now toast ,gone. many people have asked why do they have no water pressure , they are not very unhappy knowing that everything, that they have is at risk. .
